Popular Architecture's Mile High Eco

 Tower - S2

Popular Architecture Super Tower

This is a concept tower by Popular Architecture envisioned for Tower Hamlets in East London.  The design is a reaction, at least in part, to sprawl issues.  London is expected to need housing for 100,000 new people per year until 2016, and currently, most of housing that's being built is low-density projects in commuter towns.  Popular Architecture's Super Tower could house up to about 100,000 people with a seriously low site requirement (considering the number of people within the structure).

The 1,500 meter tall tower would have about 500 floors.  You'd find floors or sections for needs such as a university, farmer's market, pubs, a town hall, sky gardens, etc.  Anything and everything would be in the building.  There's even a fire station on the 419th floor!  Which raises the question: what do you do if there is a fire above or below the 419th floor

If built, Popular Architecture's concept would be three times larger than anything in London.  Construction would occur in 20-floor phases, with the final height of 1,500 meters subject to completion of the entire phased construction program.

I must admit, however, when I first saw this skyscraper design, I thought to myself, maybe mile high is too tall.  I mean, do we reach a point where there is a diminishing margin of returns in terms of ecological, financial, or community benefits?  There must be a highway system of elevators for all the back and forth needs of 100,000 people.  I can't even comprehend the extent of the safety issues that might be presented as well.  So, how on earth do you contain all that in one building?

Contemporary Architecture Home Design

If you would like to renovate or build some new house i suggest you to build a house with green island and beautiful scenery which will help you to beauty your home ! Would it look anything like this one? Not actually in the middle of nowhere, architect David Jay Weiner has just put up a contemporary cottage design in Stephentown, New York, that totally caught our eye. Meant as a weekend retreat place, the unique and irregular cottage comes with expansive glazed facades set in a black wooden frame. On the inside, a a feeling of relaxation and serenity prevails. Everything has it’s very own special place. There are tall ceiling rooms with modern furniture and white walls and floors. Definitely stands out from its pastoral, grassy meadow surroundings.

Cool Pool House Idea That You Dream About

بدون شرح...... خودتون نظربدین

wilton-pool-house-5.jpg

It may be a pool house, but this cool 364m2 suburban Connecticut home could easily be the abode of choice. Designed by forward-thinking New York-based Hariri & Hariri Architecture, the Wilton Pool House idea is based on the principles of modern minimalism and a strong connection to nature. The pool house architecture is characterized by a long, angular archway of rich, Brazilian walnut wood that runs the length of the pool and folds over an outdoor seating area. The archway provides protection from the sun when lounging, swimming, or enjoying an al fresco meal. Glass walls enclose the main living areas, which contains a kitchen, bar, bathroom and a small terrace. Enjoy the pictures

Blue Volcano is a Solar Cloud-Topped Eco-Stadium

 for Zagreb, Croatia

With a lightweight skin, recycled materials, solar power, and a somewhat crazy-lookin’ volcano-esque shape, this “cloud-covered” stadium in Zagreb has tons of eco-promise. Designed by Croatia-based njiric+ arhitekti, the Za(breg) Stadium is set to be a new landmark for the city center. Nicknamed the “Blue Volcano” by both the public and the press, the new stadium rises up from the city floor in a smooth arc to encapsulate the arena within

inside-of-stadium

The stadium is constructed of lightweight materials – steel cables, EFTE membranes and a polycarbonate dome, reducing the need for an excess of resources. An artificial hill will hold the arena and is built up from recycled rubber, while the exterior surface is corrugated aluminum painted with blue pigment. The volcano-shaped building is topped with a dome, and a “floating cloud” covers the interior playing field. Lightweight photovoltaic panels are sewn into the zeppelin-like cloud and generate power for the stadium.

Surrounding the stadium are retail areas to make the site a multi-use development and the spacious grounds house more areas for the public to recreate. A skateboarding and climbing area are built into the side of the stadium and additional playing fields sit adjacent to the site. All in all, a good project for Croatia that could help unify the city with a fun and smart eco stadium

Taiwan recently finished construction on an incredible solar-powered stadium that will generate 100% of its electricity from photovoltaic technology! Designed by Toyo Ito, the dragon-shaped 50,000 seat arena is clad in 8,844 solar panels that illuminate the track and field with 3,300 lux. The project will officially open later this year to welcome the 2009 World Games.

Building a new stadium is always a massive undertaking that requires millions of dollars, substantial physical labor, and a vast amount of electricity to keep it operating. Toyo Ito’s design negates this energy drain with a stunning 14,155 sq meter solar roof that is able to provide enough energy to power the stadium’s 3,300 lights and two jumbo vision screens. To illustrate the incredible power of this system, officials ran a test this January and found that it took just six minutes to power up the stadium’s entire lighting system!

The stadium also integrates additional green features such as permeable paving and the extensive use of reusable, domestically made materials. Built upon a clear area of approximately 19 hectares, nearly 7 hectares has been reserved for the development of integrated public green spaces, bike paths, sports parks, and an ecological pond. Additionally, all of the plants occupying the area before construction were transplanted.

Non-sports fans in the community have a lot to jump up and down for as well. Not only does the solar system provide electricity during the games, but the surplus energy will also be sold during the non-game period. On days where the stadium is not being used, the Taiwanese government plans to feed the extra energy into the local grid, where it will meet almost 80% of the neighboring area’s energy requirements. Overall, the stadium will generate 1.14 million KWh per year, preventing the release of 660 tons of carbon dioxide into atmosphere annually.

By 2011 the city of Wembley will have a spiraling new student housing tower powered by solar panels. Located close to Wembley Stadium, this multi-tiered tower designed by London-based CZWG will contain 435 student rooms. The solar-powered tower is part of a planned redevelopment that will help regenerate and enhance the local urban landscape

The original plan for the student housing tower was reportedly turned down by the local planning inspectors until adequate changes were made to the design. Now the new design has been accepted and is well received. One of the local inspectors said, “The proposed building is of an outstanding architectural and urban design quality.” The 20-storey tower is comprised of three separate wings surrounding a central tower. Each wing is a different height in order to blend in smoothly to neighboring buildings.

The two south-facing facades will be partially clad in photovoltaic panels that will meet some of the on-site power demand, although we don’t know how much it will be yet. Windows are set in a diagonal pattern and are recessed to increase their visual scale and depth. The student housing tower will also feature a large front lobby and entrance, a launderette, management offices and lots of bike parking. Two landscape areas will provide students and local residents a place to gather and sit outdoors

درختان خورشیدی

درختان خورشیدی؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟
